How SelfVeil researches products
Our job is not to turn a manufacturer catalog into another catalog. We organize product information around the shopper’s decision: what format fits, what specifications matter, where the friction is and what the price actually buys.
1. We define the buying question first
Before adding products, we decide what a shopper is trying to choose between: broad versus targeted coverage, fixed versus portable setup, entry-level versus premium spending, or one product format versus another.
2. We prioritize primary sources for specifications
Official manufacturer pages are used for current product names, published technical specifications, included features, listed pricing and warranty information. When a figure is supplied by the manufacturer, we describe it as a manufacturer figure rather than an independent measurement.
3. We add original decision context
SelfVeil adds value by comparing format, setup, storage, coverage, controls, price and likely trade-offs. We do not simply rewrite a product description or repeat marketing claims.
4. We separate commerce from conclusions
Some retailer links are affiliate links. A commercial relationship does not allow a brand to purchase ranking position, remove stated disadvantages or approve our editorial conclusion.
5. We avoid unsupported medical promises
SelfVeil does not promise a cure, diagnosis, guaranteed relief or treatment outcome. If a manufacturer markets a health-related benefit, our editorial copy focuses on the product format and published specification rather than turning that marketing claim into a guarantee.
6. We make uncertainty visible
Prices, policies and specifications can change. Where SelfVeil has not independently lab-tested a measurement, we do not present it as independently verified. Retailer pages remain the final source for live checkout information.
7. We update comparison sets
Comparison pages are dated. As new brands, products or affiliate relationships become available, we can expand a comparison set rather than pretending that the current set represents every option in the market.
